The Northfield Convention and Visitors Bureaus’ (CVB) purpose is to market & promote Northfield as a tourist destination.
The CVB is funded through 3% Lodging Tax on all Lodging Rooms within the City of Northfield via the MN State Lodging Tax Statute. Ninety-five percent of the Lodging Tax is passed through to fund the CVB of Northfield, five percent of the 100% lodging tax collected is maintained by the City of Northfield for administrative purpose.
The CVB is organized as a division of the Chamber. The Chamber manages the CVB’s activities in accordance with the Lodging Tax Agreement with the City of Northfield. The Northfield Chamber of Commerce maintains Contract for Services from the City of Northfield and employees Staff (Director of Tourism) to execute the CVB Contract.
An established CVB Advisory Board is in place to advise the Director of Tourism, offer input, approval of budget and reports to the Chamber of Commerce Board & City Council. The CVB Advisory Board is made up of:
