Stargazing Open House Friday, Oct. 4 starting at 10:00 pm
Monthly every first Friday when skies are clear. Join Carleton’s resident astronomers to view the moon, stars, planets and nebulas. The event will be canceled at the last minute if cloudy. Dress for the weather, since you’ll either use a telescope outside or in the domes, which are not heated.
Singer/songwriter from Faribault playing pop and folk music including covers and originals. He briefly attended McNally Smith College of Music where he discovered a passion for songwriting. A four-piece electric band with Wendy Smith (guitar, vocals, accordion), Peter Nelson (guitar and vocals), Dave Drentlaw (drums) and Mike Legvold (bass). They play Smith’s originals along with covers from a variety of styles including blues, rock ‘n’ roll, roots and country. One of Northfield’s most danceable bands.
The Viking Chorus, Manitou Singers, Norseman Band and St. Olaf Philharmonia present their family weekend concert. Conductors include Tesfa Wondemagegnehu, Therees Hibbard, Arthur Haecker and Martin Hodel. Free and open to the public.
