The Carleton Chamber Choir, directed by Matthew Olson, is a select mixed-voice ensemble of 12-16 students singing challenging repertoire ranging from music of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romantic, and 20th Century time periods. St. Olaf Chamber Singers, directed by Therees Tkach Hibbard, has a membership of 20-24 singers and focuses primarily on music of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, and Modern eras. Occasional performances range outside that repertory and have included American parlor songs and contemporary chamber music. The ensemble performs most of its music as a choral group, but students also have the opportunity to perform madrigals and other music appropriate for smaller ensembles, one to a part, or as soloists with early instruments.
