- Almanzo Pre-Race Show with No Time For Fame

The ‘granddaddy of all gravel races’ is starting and ending in Northfield in 2019 and No Time for Fame will be there to help kick it off!No Time For Fame is an indie rock band from Minnesota on a mission to create and entertain. They bring original DIY rock and roll from the upper Midwest, with crunchy guitars, hooks for miles, and an energetic stage presence to keep a crowd engaged and guessing about what will come next.
- Almanzo 100
When: Saturday, May 18th, 9am
Where: Starting location 4th St E & Division St, Northfield, Minnesota
The Almanzo gravel road events in May of every year welcome cyclists from all over the globe to ride 50, 100, 162 and 380 mile routes through the beautiful rolling farmland of Southern Minnesota. The Almanzo events are free-to-enter, self-supported and welcome to people of all backgrounds and all abilities.
- Chinese Ensemble Concert: Gao Hong, director
When: Saturday, May 18th, 2-3:15pm
Where: Kracum Performance Hall
Carleton Chinese Music Ensemble and Global Music Ensemble Spring Concert with a Special Appearance by Guest Artist Chang Tong. The Carleton Chinese Music Ensemble performs on traditional bowed strings, plucked strings, winds and percussion instruments. Their repertoire includes Chinese classical, folk, percussion, minority, and contemporary music.
- LAB: The Pink Unicorn
When: Saturday, May 18th, 7:30-9pm
Where: Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 West Third Street
The Pink Unicorn is an award-winning solo theater piece, which tells the story of a Christian widow, living in a conservative Texas town, whose life is thrown into turmoil when her teenaged daughter announces she is “gender queer” and starts a chapter of the Gay and Straight Alliance at the local high school
- Troubadours Concert
When: Sunday, May 19th, 3:30pm
Where: St. Peters Luthern Church
Join The Troubadours for their Spring Concert! The Troubadours were formed in 1979 by Marilyn Wing. The group performs 20 concerts a year to a variety of audiences in the area: senior residences in Northfield and Cannon Falls including care facilities, service clubs and more. The Troubadours do a wide variety of music including Ghost Riders in the Sky, Beer Barrel Polka, Amazing Grace, Down by the River Side, Moon River, Alexander’s Ragtime Band, Blowing in the Wind and Blue Moon.
